Posted by Mike Foster:

I’m going to be interviewing Gayle Haggard tomorrow at 10am for the People of the Second Chance blog.

We will talking about grace, second chances, and her new book called “Why I Stayed: The Choices I Made In My Darkest Hour.”

I certainly have some questions for her but I’m sure you have some thoughts and questions too. So what would you want to ask or say to Gayle?

Post your questions in the comments section below or you can Tweet it and tag it #potsc.

How did you overcome the urge to beat the snot out of him?

Were there people who spoke calming wisdom into your life that encouraged you to stand and fight for your marriage?

Many of us saw the response you received from the Christian community; I'm sure most of it caused further hurt rather than healing. In retrospect, what would healing, redemptive responses have looked or sounded like?

When I was a teenager my brother and I discovered my father's porn addiction. We revealed it to our mom, she confronted him, we had a family meeting and then it was never spoken of again. As an adult woman, I'm still struggling with trusting my father and the way I view men all together. He has not shown any signs of humility that you all discussed in a previous post. Any advice that Gayle (or you guys for that matter) could give on how to move on would be great.

Looking back, what would you say to all the people who suggested you leave him?

In your process of healing and forgiveness, what would you have done differently? What has been the most beneficial? The least?

In what ways, if any, have you felt loved by the Church through the decisions you have been asked to make?

Where did your forgiveness/grace/second chance come from? Maybe better put, do you feel your grace and forgiveness has been based in a love for your husband, your family or God?

all about Christ,

Since forgiveness/grace/2nd chance was given, what happens when those “how could he” moments come back up? when they come, how do you keep from beating yourself up because you had those thoughts after you had already forgiven?

What boundaries have you two established to encourage trust?

In what ways is your ministry to others more significant since?

What would you recommend to the church to prevent this happening in the lives of other leader? Or marriages for that matter?

Gayle: Has this experience changed any of the dynamics of your relationship with God?

I would appreciate it if you, on behalf of us, would thank her. Such an example of grace and second chances in an incredibly tough situation. I'm looking forward to the interview and Mike, while I have this moment – I think you're an excellent interviewer – I love hearing your Catalyst interviews.
