NOT ABOUT ME
Posted by Jud Wilhite:
I’m smiling as I write this. I just got off the phone with one of our staff who was sharing our global ministry vision with someone in Dallas.
The person asked, “Tell me why I’ve never heard of Jud Wilhite.”
The staff member replied, “Because it isn’t about Jud. It is about Jesus and it is about the movement of sharing God’s grace with the world.”
The guy smiled and said, “That is so refreshing…”
As the conversation was relayed to me I just paused to thank God. There are already enough celebrity pastors to weird out the known world.
Let’s make Jesus the celebrity and let’s celebrate his grace!
That means that every day we all faces choices in our lives to make it about us, but we can joyfully yield to God and make it all about him.

Great reminder Jud. Often times it can be more about me then about Jesus, then I am reminded of Grace and the calling and I get back to reality.
This is why I absolutely love Central!
Jud, that IS so refreshing. It's hard for me to deal with the egos in ministry sometimes. The need and enjoyment of being well-known pretty much turns me off to a person, even if their ministry is passionate and moving. Thank you for pointing people to the real hero, Jesus.
Awesome.
Julie's father, who was in the ministry for over 35 years, used to say that the way to tell if a church is one to stay away from is to see if the pastor's picture is in the yellow pages ad or in their flyers – that the church is all about whose face is in the ads or in the bulletin.
love it! right on! btw, every time i see jud i ask him…”now who are you?” j/k

Amen! All about Jesus!!
Love it. Thanks for posting Jude!
Tremendous tribute to you Jud.
Thanks for the comments. I've learned that if you are not conscientious about this area, stuff will naturally pull it in the other direction. The flesh wants it about us for all the wrong reasons, the Spirit challenges us to surrender and make it all about Jesus. I'm hoping to grow more in this area. My John the Baptist's words be ours when he pointed to Jesus, “He must increase, I must decrease!”
nice one.
if it was about you or me or someone else – it would most likely fail
I read this and smiled too… right on Jud.
