Mike, I cried through the entire video… and I am not a cryer. I have no words…

Parise God for the people that warden and the people running this program.

Anyone who can watch that video with dry eyes has no soul. Thank you God for multiple chances.

    Mike,
My first time in prison was 6 years ago at Angola for their first Father/Child event that you see at the end of this video. I cried more that day than the rest of my life combined. I sat and talked to some of the Dads just after their children had to leave. It was really tough. Prison Fellowship partners with Awana as a part of our Operation Starting Line collaboration. They are an amazing organization! God has used Warden Burl Cain at Angola to transform that prison and there's no doubt that God is changing the lives of the men in there. These guys love their sons and daughters just as much as we do. I can't imagine not being able to just hold children. It's an amazing thing to see these Dad's take their responsibility seriously now as a father even though they're incarcerated. They're doing all that they can. Happy Father's Day!

    Thanks for posting this, Mike.

It is one of the greatest honors and privileges of my life to minister regularly to the men of Angola Prison. It is a place like no other. Warden Burl Cain has been powerfully used by God to change that place.

Once the bloodiest prison in America, it is now “The Nation's Largest Gated Community.” The inmates there refer to it as such, and will tell you proudly they are safer there than many of us, and the employment rate is 100%. They now are sending out inmates to other prisons in the state to plant churches – all funded by Angola inmates who make between $.04-.20 an hour.

The Returning Fathers program is unbelievable.

Thanks, again, for showing this and making these men human. I'm thankful that they are my friends – and more importantly – my brothers in Christ.

Even when bound in chains, you can't break the love of a father and his children. Sounds familiar eh? =)
