THE ULTIMATE MIND-FREAK
Posted by Jud Wilhite:
The ultimate mind-freak is not Criss Angel, although some of his magic is pretty freaky.
I believe the ultimate mind-freak is realizing that the universe is truly, utterly, and completely about God, and thus not about me, and finding my greatest happiness in celebrating this reality.
The Bible says, “For everything comes from [God] and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! (Rom. 11:36).” It is not that some things or a few things are intended for his glory, but that everything exists to give God glory.
From galaxies, constellations, black holes and shooting stars to love, purpose and beauty, from things physical and concrete to the realm of spiritual and emotional—all of reality was made and designed for the public declaration of God’s infinite worth.
As I understand this truth, my framework shifts from being me-centered to God-centered. The universe was not created for me, but him. It’s not about me, but him.
Nothing could be more important in this time of self-help and reality television and Facebook status updates and Twitter tweets and indie everything than realizing that we are not the main attraction of this world.
Our daily challenges and decisions become opportunities to live for God’s glory. As we reorient our lives around God, we have the opportunity more and more to join creation in turning up the volume on God’s worth.
This is the single most important lesson I’ve learned in my own valleys. By reorienting everything back to where it belongs around God, I find my footing again.
THE NUMBER ONE SIGN A FALLEN LEADER WILL COME BACK

Posted by Mike Foster:
I consider it a privilege to work with individuals who are rebuilding their lives after a significant failure in leadership.
Often when I’m doing this I’m asked this question by others:
Will they make it? How do you know they won’t fall again?
I don’t have crystal ball but in my experience, if had to pick one character trait that is the best indicator that someone is going to come back strong it would be this….SIMPLE HUMILITY.
When a leader fully embraces his brokeness, openly talks about his failure with others, and consistently lives in a posture of humility, I can almost guarantee 100% success.
But when a leader tips into arrogance, self reliance, and an overall tone of they got it all figured out, I become worried.
Humility drives second chances. Arrogance will leave a cloud of questions.
YOU’RE TINY
Posted by Jud Wilhite:
My friend Matt Chandler said something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently.
Matt says, “Nobody ever stood at the base of the Rocky Mountains and turned to their friend and was like, ‘Remember in high school when I could bench press 285 lbs? That was great. I really was powerful back then.’ I mean, the entire universe is built around communicating to you that you’re tiny and you’re fragile and you control nothing.”
It’s a great reminder to focus my thoughts and attention on God, who is so much bigger than any of my problems.
SOME #REALME FAVORITES

A small sample of some of the #REALME profile pics from Twitter.
Thanks to SerenaWoods, Mikeymo1741, GenerateLoveBug, and TaylorPhelan for these sweet pics.
Also check out these blog posts from InProgress about her inner me and one from Stephen offering a different take on #REALME.
Keep swapping out those Twitter and Facebook profile pics and make sure to leave them up for 7 days.
More to come later.
TIRED OF LOOKING SEXY ALL THE TIME? #REALME

Posted by Mike Foster:
Above is a picture from my High School year book that I hate. I don’t show this photo to anyone.
But these days every picture that you see of me on my Twitter, Facebook, Blog, Books, Conference stuff, and anywhere else is taken by a professional. Nice lighting. Mega super expensive camera. Photoshop of course!
All the pics of me looking like a dweeb, or stoned, or like I’m trying too hard to look important have been illiminated from the Mike Foster “portofolio.”
And you do the same thing. But let’s be straight…none of us REALLY look like that most of the time. Maybe us looking sexy is getting a little out of control. Especially in social media.
THE REAL ME EXPERIMENT
So this week I thought we could do an experiment. Let’s replace all our “nice-professional-photoshop-hair-looking-fab-pics-we-really-like-of-ourselves” with “REAL” photos of us. Change your Twitter. Facebook. Blog. Remove the sexy and put the #REALME up.
Low res camera pics. Christmas morning rats nest hair photos. Bad lighting and goofy looks. Close ups and flabby neck photos. No photoshopin’ here! No shame here! No image or brand management! Just a snapshot of reality.
And here is the point of the experiment!!! Your value is in you. Not your sexiness. You are beautiful even when you think you are ugly, geeky, or when a photo is unflattering. We love and prefer the REAL YOU!
So I’m changing out my Twitter, Facebook, and blog pics with photos I don’t really like of myself. Plus I’m going to tweet(#REALME) and post a few others that are uncomfortable and “real” this week.
Would love for you to join me in this little experiment! And if you want to help, blog it and tweet it. The more peeps involved the more fun!
UPDATED:
1. What Tony is doing on his blog is the next level of #REALME
2. Was texting with Anne this morning and she gave me a heads up on this video she made last week! Love it!
