NEW POTSC DESKTOPS AND IPHONE BACKGROUND

Our great friends over at Ghostlight Creative whipped us up some new People of the Second Chance desktops and Iphone screens.

These guys are huge supporters of what we are doing and have been incredibly generous to us.

Ghostlight has created 3 new designs including Fail Love, Overthrow Judgment, and Round 2.

These are great ways to remind us everyday that we are POTSC. It’s also a great conversation starter with friends and co-workers.

I’ve got Fail Love on my Iphone and IMac. I put Overthrow Judgment on my Mac Book.

LENNY KRAVITZ AND KEEP DOING WEIRD THINGS

People won’t understand you. They will think the things you do are strange.

Your work will go unappreciated. Your contribution may feel marginalized. People will suggest that you are not important.

But keep going for it. Be persistent. Have tenacity. Keep doing weird things.

If you keep singing, good things will eventually come. Good things like Lenny Kravitz.

I WANT YOUR NAME IN MY NEW BOOK

POTSC is about your story and your voice.

So I had this idea. I want put your name inside my new book “GRACENOMICS.” (Book comes out this Fall.)

I put a section in GRACENOMICS where at the top of several pages it will say “WE ARE PEOPLE OF THE SECOND CHANCE.”

48 HOURS IN 3 MINUTES

I had the awesome privilege of speaking at Central Christian Church, Las Vegas this past weekend.

Just for fun I made a chronological video timeline with my Iphone 3gs capturing my trip to Las Vegas. The video starts Saturday morning and goes through Sunday evening.

(Flying. A Hilton Hotel Surprise. McDonalds. Sound Check. Music. Meetings. Coffee. Goofing Off. Etc.)

DAVID ORTIZ AND THE SCIENCE OF HOME RUNS

It was awesome watching David Ortiz win the Home Run Derby yesterday! It was a great comeback for a Hall of Fame player who recently couldn’t hit the ball.

(WARNING: Here comes a sports metaphor.)

So I learned something yesterday about the “science” of home runs.

The distance the baseball travels has a lot more to do with the BAT SPEED than the BALL SPEED.

In fact, swinging the bat just a little bit faster can impact distance ALOT! It’s the difference between a routine pop fly or cranking one out of the park.

Life throws fastballs, curve balls, and change ups. How fast these things come at you is NOT the issue.

SUCCESS IS ALL ABOUT HOW YOU RESPOND TO WHATEVER YOU FACE!

Both in baseball and in life, David Ortiz clearly understands this principle.
