I love this fictional Facebook status update. (see pic above)

First it made me chuckle.

Then it made me think about how we respond to bad news, tragedy and when the crap hits the fan.

So are you more like the cockroach? Confident. Positive. Know you will survive.

Or are you more like the Earth and the T-Rex? You tend to respond with a big FML!

Bad news and crap fans, I think I'm the cockroach. Tragedy….that I don't know. I've honestly never been hit with anything I could call real tragedy. Not close enough to FML anyway. I thank God for that, and pray, at least, that I won't t-rex out.

I'm usually the cockroach at first, but then I'm a chubby volcano that sat dormant for millions of years and then all-the-sudden I'm crying because of a “16 and Pregnant” episode that tapped into something that happened to me when I was 11. But soon after I'm a cockroach again and I'll deny ever being a volcano.

I think I am more like a Mexican jumping bean. Gotta move, gotta do something….yet I am not sure I make much progress during a tragedy because I am stuck inside a seed and can't accomplish much or see where I am going.
