Many of you have been with us from the beginning of the Labels Lie series, and you’ve been instrumental in sharing the message of rejecting labels.  Next week, we will feature the final image, and we wanted to give you an opportunity to contribute.  A screenshot of the image is posted below; search your heart and tell us what you think the caption should be, in the comment section below.

One last image … one last label to reject!

Abortion is such a strong topic where lots of judgement is placed… I know from experience. I think “Baby Killer” is a STRONG label. Thanks Ashley

  • http://karenhammons.mobi Karen Hammons

Failure. User. Not enough. Always on welfare. Moocher. Lazy.

    “You are a hopeless wreck”

—just a few. The ones already posted are really good too!

    “Not Worth It”

I think the idea of focusing on abortion could resonate with a lot of people, since like @089d4505c3d8782b93402835a36278f3:disqus
said it is a large issue in our society. However I’m not sure about the wording of “You are a Baby Killer”. maybe something like this:

    “You’re a Killer” (I had an abortion)

or something like that? Because I feel like a lot of the criticism that women catch with something like that is the comments that they are no better than someone who has killed an adult.

I attached a mock-up just in case that didn’t make sense.

  • Shanyn Mysti

    “You always were a problem.”
“You are just like your loser mother/father”
“Watched him kill her baby to save herself.”
    “Waste of skin.”
“You should have never been born.”

  • http://karenhammons.mobi Karen Hammons

I agree. I think “Baby Killer” would strike a cord with many people. GREAT wording, Ashley!

  • Rachel

Bitch. Do us all a favor, and disappear. You ruin everything you touch. Broken beyond repair.

When I look at this image, I immediately am saddened because it strikes a wound in me of believing that my efforts will never be good enough. That my life is meaningless and without hope. That I would be better off dead, because everyone else thinks that life would be better without you anyway. I am not entirely sure how to sum that up in a caption. But that’s what the image surfaces in my own heart.

  • Kamitchell

I agree with Baby Killer.  As someone who’s suffered the guilt of abortion, the label, whether imposed by yourself or others, is a tough one to shake.  Thank you for your messages of hope; I’ve needed them and I know millions of other have, and still do.

Thank for having the courage to share this on here. I can’t even imagine the hurt you have faced. Thank you for using your voice. We love you.

  • http://karenhammons.mobi Karen Hammons

I felt the same thing, Rachel. It’s an image that screams “not good enough”. Love your thoughts on this.

  • Leopardchicken

She looks exhausted from the load she is carrying.  To me the glove might suggest she is hiding the abuse she does to herself in the form of cutting?

  • Huffsherry

How do I ask for help?

  • http://karenhammons.mobi Karen Hammons

    Great thoughts! Wow.

  • http://karenhammons.mobi Karen Hammons

Are you needing help with something @Huffsherry? Or do you think the label on the visual should say that?
