WHAT DOES PEOPLE OF THE SECOND CHANCE MEAN?
People of the Second Chance are people who have experienced a life changing second chance in life. We are imperfectionists who have courageously dealt with pain, loss, addiction, or personal crisis, and have survived. Our second chance experience compels us to live a life that centers on grace, forgiveness, empathy and understanding for others.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
People of the Second Chance is a social good organization that introduces people to a powerful second chance experience. We are a movement of people who seek to live out radical grace every day, in every moment, with everyone. Our organization shares and develops content, tools, films, resources and innovative campaigns to disrupt beliefs and reinvent our lives and our world. We help people move from pain, suffering, shame and a damaged identity to a place of well being and transformation.
HOW DID IT START?
Ironically enough, People of the Second Chance (POTSC) was birthed out of picking up the pieces from a previously failed organization that occurred in 2009. Shortly after the unexpected ending of one successful organization, founders Mike Foster and Jud Wilhite started a simple blog to encourage, support and advocate for grace in our lives. The message of second chances resonated so strongly with others that it quickly became a rally cry for thousands. You can read more of our story here.
WHAT ARE LIFEMARKS?
Our 5 LifeMarks are the characteristics our content and resources attempt to build into people. They are simple health indicators that we use to identify whether our solutions are working. If people are growing in these traits then we are being successful in our mission to impact people’s lifestyle.
IS THIS A RELIGIOUS THING?
People of the Second Chance is a faith based organization. We believe experiencing the God of second chances is core to life change. However, our message, mission, products and content works to engage ALL people. We are radically inclusive and work diligently to produce honest messages and not just religious ones.
WHAT IS FREEWAY?
Freeway: Six Steps To Freedom is an innovative small groups tool produced by People of the Second Chance. It is a simple process that helps people work through pain, struggle and loss through the power of forgiveness. In December 2012 we crowdsourced the funding of Freeway by inviting our community to participate.
WHAT IS GRACENOMICS?
Gracenomics is a People of the Second Chance resource that outlines how grace can be experienced in your life, relationships and at work. The book is written by co-founder Mike Fosterand it serves as the framework for POTSC’s values and beliefs. This content exists as a book, video series and a small group study guide.
