Beautiful words — and a fresh reminder that we need to read Paul’s letters in view of how his readers would have received them. I was touched tonight in viewing Tyler Perry’s words about grace in the life of Whitney Houston. Keep up the good work in teaching forgiveness and the horizontal relationships which can be challenging.

I hope so. I imagine I enjoy God’s grace on all sorts of transgressions I didn’t even realize I committed, let alone understand the full extent.

The point isn’t so much to forgive Chris Brown specifically, but to get over this idea that we have to approve of someone’s transgressions to forgive them.

After all, we should never think that God approves of our transgressions because he forgives us.

This leaves me with a thought and a question:

I wonder if it’s really forgiveness if you don’t even know the person and they never knew how they made you feel.
Can someone in the wrong another really understand grace without understanding the full extent of their transgression?
