FAQ

We wanted to try and answer some of your most common questions that we get around here. Have your own? Email us at Contact(at)POTSC.com.

WHAT DOES PEOPLE OF THE SECOND CHANCE MEAN?
People of the Second Chance are people who have experienced a life changing second chance in life. We are the failed but growing imperfectionists who have courageously dealt with pain, loss, addiction, or personal crisis, and have survived. Our second chance experience compels us to choose a radically different way of life that centers on grace, forgiveness and empathy for others.

WHAT DO YOU DO?
People of the Second Chance is a social good organization that introduces people to a powerful second chance experience that radically alters their lives and futures. We are a movement of people who seek to live out radical grace every day, in every moment, with everyone. Our organization shares and develops content, tools, films, resources and innovative campaigns to disrupt beliefs and reinvent our lives and our world. We help people move from pain, suffering, shame and a damaged identity to a place of well being and regeneration.

HOW DID IT START?
Ironically enough, People of the Second Chance (POTSC) was birthed out of a crisis. In late 2009, founders Mike Foster and Jud Wilhite experienced a personal and professional
setback. Rather than choose to revel in anger or bitterness, they determined to hatch a rebellious plan for grace. So in 2010, People of the Second Chance officially launched, becoming a dynamic platform for helping all of us experience and live out second chances. POTSC is now a global community of advocates living out the mission and values of the organization.

IS THIS A RELIGIOUS THING?
People of the Second Chance is a 501-c3 faith based organization incorporated in California. We believe faith and God play a critical part in an individual’s second chance experience. However, we also believe that profound acts of grace are encountered in all contexts of life and are not exclusively a religious experience. Our community, message, mission, products and content works to engage ALL people. We are radically inclusive and work diligently to produce “human” messages and not religious ones.

WHAT IS GRACENOMICS?
Gracenomics is a People of the Second Chance resource that outlines how grace can be experienced in your life, relationships and at work. It serves as the initial framework for POTSC’s values and beliefs. This content exists as a book, video series and a small group study guide.

HOW DO YOU PAY FOR THIS THING?
As a non-profit, we are supported by donors, foundations, churches, speaking and through the sales of People of the Second Chance products. As an organization we strive to be hyper efficient and cost effective with our initiatives. WHAT IS THE GRACE MOB?
The Grace Mob is a high commitment group of individuals who put radical grace into action. They are made up of passionate volunteers, activists and supporters who have gone through our application process. The Grace Mob members dedicate their time and resources, and leverage their influence, to daily carry out practical acts of grace that drive the POTSC mission.
